What Youll Do as an Information Technology Supervisor 2:
Within the Information Technology Office (ITO) Support section supervise information technology staff whose primary duties involve writing analyzing & designing computer programs &/or systems integration for minicomputer &/or monitoring & maintaining minicomputer control processing unit operations:
Oversee operations & activities of the PC Support Operations & Service desk units (e.g. establish & enforce unit policies & procedures schedule & conduct staff meetings review work completed by staff assist in resolving difficult computer problems etc.);
Establish priorities & supervise subordinate supervisory personnel (e.g. provide developmental opportunities & work direction coach staff to foster development monitor staff activities to ensure quality customer service & information technology security evaluate performance approve section staffing levels recommend discipline pre-screen applications & participate in interviews);
Oversee the 24x7 support of internal IT customers; Plan & initiate upgrades for the Ohio Department of Public Safety (ODPS) to keep desktops in a supported state;
Manage & monitor tickets via tracking system (i.e. ServiceNow)
Oversee the IT processes of Moves Adds & Changes of ODPS employees within the building & externally (i.e. ATP BMV EMA ACF etc.); Ensure the transition process of moving employees in & out of ODPS runs smoothly & non-disruptive; Develop & implement changes to the process to increase functionality when required;
Manage IT inventory supply levels; Coordinate hardware & software repairs with various external vendors;
Manage the efforts of Infrastructure Specialists & Information Technologists in the development of new IT projects & in the support of existing IT systems;
Act as project lead & coordinate technological resources in the design investigation & delivery of IT engagements;
Analyze business functional units & prepare input for Project Managers & maintenance activities;
Collaborate with IT Supervisors to provide training on processes procedures & skill development to ensure superior customer service;
Establish metrics for tracking staff time & utilize metrics to identify & resolve problem areas.
Ensure licensing of software procedures are followed;
Provide automated processes to track what is loaded on the PCs & cross reference to what is owned by the department;
Perform other duties as assigned.
