About the opportunity
The Unigym Coordinator at the University of Tasmania is responsible for overseeing the development and delivery of fitness programs at the Launceston Unigym. This includes creating innovative group fitness classes personal training services and community engagement activities while ensuring a safe and high-quality environment for members. The role also manages contracted programs for third parties such as UniSport and ensures compliance with service agreements.
This position requires strong organisational communication and customer service skills along with a passion for sport health and wellbeing. Working collaboratively with colleagues across University Sport the Coordinator will help maintain excellent facilities and continuously improve services. Flexibility is essential as the role may involve work outside standard hours and support for administrative and customer service tasks to ensure smooth operations.
What youll do:
- Design and deliver innovative health fitness and wellbeing programs including personal training group fitness and specialised services for members and external groups.
- Assist with planning budgeting risk management and delivery of Unigym initiatives athlete programs and member services.
- Manage rostering pay approvals leave requests and training records for fitness instructors and personal trainers.
- Engage with clients university departments and external stakeholders to improve experiences resolve feedback and ensure policy compliance.
- Maintain clean safe facilities and equipment; develop user guidelines and digital content for the website and social media.
- Prepare usage reports ensure safety and training compliance and perform additional duties to support Unigym operations.
What were looking for:
- Excellent interpersonal oral and written communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of individuals and groups.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in health wellbeing and gym operations including safety practices equipment maintenance and risk identification.
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the capacity to work independently manage competing priorities and deliver to deadlines.
- Experience in delivering and coordinating customer service facility operations and group fitness programs and timetables including staff rostering and day-to-day operational oversight.
- Proven commitment to customer service supported by strong competence in computerised administrative systems.
Salary details
Appointment to this role will be at HEO 6 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $116872 comprising base salary within the range of $92120 to $99891 plus 17% superannuation.
