Job Title: Registered Nurse CVICU
Location: Pikeville KY
Contract Duration: 10 weeks (Extendable)
Shift: 412-hour shifts
Weekly Gross Pay: $3022/week
Job Summary
A skilled CVICU Registered Nurse is needed for a 10-week contract at a acute-care healthcare facility in Pikeville KY. The RN will provide comprehensive high-acuity cardiovascular and critical care to adult and elderly patients. This role requires strong clinical judgment advanced assessment skills and experience managing critically ill patients in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care & Assessment
Perform initial and ongoing assessments for young adult adult and elderly patients
Deliver care to critically ill patients in a high-acuity CVICU environment
Manage airway (basic and advanced techniques)
Provide cardiac monitoring cardiac care and post-operative vascular surgery recovery
Perform neurological neurovascular orthopedic GI respiratory and renal care
Administer enteral nutrition and conduct thorough skin assessments
Clinical Skills & Procedures
Central venous catheter care and maintenance
Titrate specialized IV drips
Administer medications and IV therapy
Perform transfusion therapy
Utilize invasive monitoring equipment
Perform waived testing and assist with sedation procedures
Assist physicians during specialized procedures
Operate and troubleshoot specialized equipment for critically ill patients
Support Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
Respond to Code Blue situations
Manage admission and discharge criteria
Documentation & Communication
Maintain accurate and complete patient documentation
Assess and record patient progress treatments and responses
Provide individualized patient/family education
Communicate effectively with the healthcare team
Serve as a patient advocate
Address psychosocial cultural spiritual and emotional needs
Professional & Team Responsibilities
Supervise and support other healthcare staff
Function as a team leader and role model
Participate in performance improvement activities
Maintain equipment supplies and adhere to cost-containment practices
Attend required training education and in-service sessions
Demonstrate flexibility organization and the ability to work under pressure
Perform housekeeping or patient transport duties as needed
Adhere to dress code infection control safety and personnel policies
Requirements
Required:
Active RN License
Minimum 5 years of RN experience
CVICU or critical care experience
EKG competency
FIT testing
ACLS (must be completed within 90 days of start/orientation)
NIH Stroke Scale (within 90 days of start/orientation)
Travel nurse experience required
