Position Summary
We are seeking an organized people-focused HR Assistant to support the Human Resources department in providing excellent service to employees and leadership. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving learning new processes and helping create a positive and efficient workplace experience.
Hybrid Role Eugene OR
Full-Time Benefit Eligible
Schedule: MondayFriday 8:00 AM5:00 PM
Compensation: $21/hour
This position works both remotely and in-person. Candidates must be willing to work on-site as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in an HR role or administrative position

- Criminal Background check conducted by the Department of Human Services Background Check Unit
- Pre-Employment Drug Screening (Including THC)
- TB Testing
- Effective 03/28/2025- Willamette Family has a required 12 month waiting period before former clients can apply for employment. This policy is in place to ensure professional boundaries and avoid potential conflicts of interest. Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Support new hire onboarding and orientation including background checks documentation and system setup
- Assist with benefits administration including enrollment changes eligibility tracking and employee support
- Assist with employee leave management and documentation
- Maintain HR records and databases with accuracy and confidentiality
- Assist with recruitment tasks such as posting job ads screening applicants scheduling interviews and communicating with candidates
- Support HR compliance efforts through documentation data tracking and internal communication
- Respond to employee inquiries in a timely professional and helpful manner
- Provide administrative support to HR projects trainings and policy implementation
Skills & Abilities
- Customer-service mindset with patience empathy and professionalism
- Proficiency in using computer systems including Microsoft Office applications SharePoint Teams etc.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision of day-to-day tasks
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong follow-through
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
- Comfortable learning new systems procedures and HR compliance practices
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
