POSITION TITLE:Alumni and Fund Development Coordinator

CLASSIFICATION: Classification VII per Schedule A of the collective agreement

DEPARTMENT: Faculty of Law

HOURS OF WORK: Monday to Friday 8:30am 4:30pm

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

To enhance revenue and financial support of the Faculty of Law by planning implementing and coordinating activities and communication with alumni in order to build and support the initiatives of the Faculty of Law. Some of the key job functions include:

  • Fundraising and Donor Relations Lead the Faculty of Laws fundraising initiatives by identifying and cultivating donor relationships preparing proposals and managing endowed award documentation.
  • Event Planning and Execution Plan and deliver a variety of alumni and donor events including reunions outreach activities and recognition ceremonies ensuring strong engagement and positive representation of the Faculty.
  • Annual Giving Campaign Oversight Manage the Law Annual Giving Campaign including student hiring and supervision alumni outreach and coordination with University advancement offices.
  • Alumni Engagement and Records Management Maintain accurate alumni and donor records support alumni communications and strengthen connections between current students alumni and the Faculty.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

The candidate will possess:

  • Law Degree (LL.B. or JD)
  • Professional standing within the legal community
  • Knowledge of Canadian tax and property laws as they relate to gifts planned giving and endowments
  • Understanding of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act
  • Knowledge of the Canadian legal and philanthropic markets
  • Experience in project coordination strategic donor communications budget planning for events (revenue analysis projections) event planning and marketing
  • Experience in the handling of confidential matters
  • Ability to speak to large or small audiences exercising tact and diplomacy at all times
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
  • Ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with MS Office Lotus Notes Raisers Edge (or equivalent) databases and social media
