JOB SUMMARY
Oversees the clinical nurse operations of assisted living and memory care and achieves compliance with state regulations. Ensures the accountability of staff regarding clinical services outcomes and standards of practice. Supportive of Village mission and values. Completes training hours as required by policy.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Participate actively in Quality and Process Improvement initiatives and serve on relevant committees.
- Conduct routine audits to ensure compliance with State and Federal regulations.
- Review and provide input on status changes and other staffing modifications based on departmental needs.
- Attend all required meetings training courses and continuing education sessions as directed.
- Provide supervision and oversight of LPNs CMTs and CNAs including management of nursing productivity audits customer service and clinical competency evaluations.
- Assist with the development and implementation of Care-Based Assessments (CBAs) and Individualized Service Plans (ISPs).
- Develop and implement orientation schedules for all new associates.
- Coordinate computer training and ensure staff are informed of documentation updates.
- Schedule and maintain dental podiatry and vision appointments with external vendors.
- Perform monthly audits of charts medication carts and other clinical areas.
- Adhere to all admission readmission and change-of-condition procedures.
- Assist in the ordering and inventory management of medical and laboratory supplies.
- Participate in a rotating weekend on-call schedule with other nurse managers.
- Provide direct resident care when necessary due to staffing shortages.
- Manage and follow up on risk management reports to ensure resolution and compliance.
- Represent Village Assisted Living professionally to residents families staff and the public.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and organizational policies.
- Maintain professional conduct demonstrate effective stress management and foster positive relationships within the workplace.
- Uphold and model the organizations standards of excellence and workplace behavior.
The responsibilities described above represent the primary responsibilities of the job. Other responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor as warranted by business needs. The incumbent is expected to perform all assigned responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- This job requires a combination of education training and experience that is acquired through the completion of an accredited School of Nursing.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Must be a licensed practical nurse by the Missouri State Board of Nursing.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
- Valid drivers license.
Knowledge and Skills (required unless otherwise noted):
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Intermediate keyboard skills required.
- Ability to accurately and completely assess the clients current medical status and needs and to plan implement and modify care plans as indicated.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft operating system and Microsoft Word Excel KRONOS and Outlook.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating instructions handbooks and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write simple sentences paragraphs and correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers clients and other associates of the organization.
- Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts interest commissions proportions percentages area circumference and volume.
- Ability to define problems collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
Special Working Conditions
- The associate is subject to environmental conditions which provide protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
- The associate is exposed to infectious diseases.
- The associate is required to function around individuals with challenged mental capacities.
- Required to drive from one location to another if necessary for services provided through the department.
- All associates may be called upon to assist other departments in a declared emergency.
