About the role
The post holder will work and provide public health expertise to the Neighbourhood Communities and Mental Health portfolio of work. The key area of focus is the health of Migrant Communities Refugees and Asylum Seekers.
The post holders main responsibility will be to develop a plan and to ensure implementation of the recommendations of the Migrant Health Needs Assessment support partners (e.g. council teams and North Central London Integrated Care Board) to engage in addressing public health this way it is expected that the post holder will also contribute to the Barnet Borough of Sanctuary ambition and addressing health inequalities.
The post holder will also contribute to the strategic development and delivery of the workplace health and wellbeing strategy within the council.
The post holder is expected to be a key contributor in setting strategic direction for the wellbeing support offer for the council workforce as well as using public health evidence base to engage with local businesses on workplace wellbeing. The post requires a good understanding of the public health theories that underline a productive healthy workforce.

About you
You will have:
  • Project Management experience and be competent to manage public health programmes of work
  • Understanding of migration and asylum issues and the needs of displaced people
  • Communicate with and establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders to enable delivery of the public health projects/programmes
  • The ability to Identify risks to health and wellbeing providing advice on how to prevent ameliorate or control them
  • An understanding of national and local government policies and strategies related to public health and workplace health and wellbeing
