Homebound Instructor
Part Time/Non-exempt
Location: Cherry Hill NJ
Compensation Range: $40.00 per hour
Reports To: Program Supervisor
Position Summary:
The Homebound Instructor provides in-home in-community and virtual instruction to multiple school districts in Camden & Burlington counties in New Jersey. The homebound instructor will implement one-to-one individualized instruction with students.
Job Responsibilities:
- Plan instruction that follows the district-approved curriculum for the assigned grade level and subject area.
- Plan instruction consistent with the Individualized Education Program (IEP) where applicable.
- Assess student abilities and needs using both formal and informal methods.
- Develop teaching methods that are appropriate for the learning objectives and the individual needs of the students.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians the school district and the program coordinator regarding the students progress
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance and progress.
Team:
This role will be part of theinstructional team reporting to the program supervisor.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in applicable field (psychology social work education special education) .
- Must be willing and able to complete background checks per New Jersey law.
- Must have an active NJ Standard Teaching Certification (middle school and/or high school) or NJ Special Education Certification
- Must be able to read write speak and understand English.
- Must possess interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective relationships with children and parents/guardians.
- Must display a professional attitude.
- Must possess the ability to be physically mobile with or without reasonable accommodation so that the requirements of the position can be fully met.
- Must be able to physically assist with evacuating children during emergency situations.
