Chemistry Analyst

Working hours are 0900-1730 (Tue-Fri) & 0900-1630 (Sat) OR 0900-1730 (Mon-Thu) & 0900-1630 (Sun).

We have two positions available for this role. Both roles are 12 Month Fixed Term contracts.

This an an entry level role with no previous experienced required. Full training will be provided.

As a Chemistry Analyst you will perform various analytical tests on dairy food feed and agricultural samples using a variety of test methods and techniques in a busy INAB accredited food and dairy chemistry contract laboratory.

You will also assist with sample handling preparation and data entry and approval using LIMS. Ensure requirements of quality system ISO 17025 and INAB are adhered to in all activities.

Main Duties

• Undertaking day to day effective accurate and efficient processing of workload in the food chemistry laboratory and to perform tasks assigned by the Senior Laboratory staff.
• Adhering to regulations and laboratory policies regarding health and safety and to maintain a clean and hygienic working environment.
• Handling and testing samples for various dairy and nutritional tests according to documented procedures including attention to sample preparation temperature control storage and prevention of cross-contamination.
• Maintaining accurate and systematic records of testing
• Reporting any faults to the Laboratory Supervisor.
• Participate in the training programme undergoing further training as required and participating in schemes to ensure on-going competence.
• Complying with all aspects of Eurofins H&S policy.

Qualifications :

• Educated to degree level in a relevant scientific subject.
• Computer literate.
• Good standard of written and spoken English and numeracy skills.
• Hard working self-motivated and professional team player
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to multi-task prioritise organise and co-ordinate your own workload
• Good written and verbal communication skills
