The Youth Counselor I (Mentor) will provide structured mentoring and individualized academic and social/behavioral support to a defined caseload of youth within a multi-tiered system of support. The Youth Counselor I (Mentor) will work collaboratively with youth families school personnel and community agencies to provide interventions designed to improve engagement with school and the community. The Youth Counselor I (Mentor) may also provide service and monitor compliance for youth involved with the courts.
The Youth Counselor I (Mentor) is a part-time hourly position reporting directly to the Program Manager/Director of VJCCCA/Community Connection Program and provides no direct supervision to other staff. This position is aGrant Funded position and works no more than twenty (20) hours per week.
The position requires a high school diploma and a minimum of 2 years of professional experience working with adolescents or an equivalent combination of training and related experience may substitute for the professional experience.
