Job Summary

Future Generations Foundations mission is to create and provide opportunities and resources that support the prosperity of First Nations through connection to way of life language and culture- now and for future generations.

The Program Coordinators primary focus is to ensure the consistent and appropriate coordination interpretation and administration of all facets of the operations of the organization including the eligibility application and accurate and efficient distribution of funds from all the funding streams of the FG Foundation in accordance with the specific principles and guidelines set out by all polices and court orders including but not limited to the Indian Residential Schools Settlement Agreement the court approved FG Foundation Administration Plan and the FG Foundation Terms and Conditions.

The Program Coordinator undertakes all functions related to the efficient program coordination and day-to-day administration of the grants program. They ensure the effective use of administration of the FG Foundation resources in accordance with the priorities enumerated in the Strategic Plan. The incumbent prepares and presents program updates on a quarterly basis to the Board of Trustees and is accountable for efficient follow-up of decision on the grants program.


Reporting to the Program Manager the Program Coordinator supports the Program Manager and the Executive Director in monitoring the progress and results of the FG Foundation annual work-plan and Strategic Plan.


Key responsibilities include:

Ensuring the consistent interpretation and application of the eligibility criteria and guidelines and making decisions based on the policies and guidelines approved by the Board of Trustees.

Supporting the Program Manager to coordinate and provide training to the program staff in the administrative management of grants.

Receiving and processing grant applications based on clear direction provided by the Program Manager Executive Director and the Board of Trustees.

Reviewing all program and grant files prepared by the program staff to ensure quality control coherence and consistency in program administration.

Coordinating communications with beneficiaries to inform applicants of status of application and decisions regarding funding.

Supporting the Program Manager by providing accurate information and reports for consideration and on-going decision-making of the Board of Trustees and Committees.

Assisting the Finance & Operations and Program managers to follow-up on the financial and operational information prior to the commencement of the annual year-end audit.

Collaborating with the Communications department and Program Manager to ensure all communications concerning programs recipients and impacts of program are accurate current so they can be shared with stakeholders and the public.

Performing regular analysis of operational reports.

Administering all data input from the grant applications.

Investigating troubleshooting and resolving problems discrepancies and issues with regards to the application and eligibility process administration and policies and recommend resolutions as appropriate and applicable to the program staff.

Researching and preparing recommendations for resolution of issues that arise to support and ensure the administration is consistent with the court approved FG Foundation Administration Plan and the FG Foundation Terms and Conditions.

Addressing skill gaps and preparing learning and training materials.

Onboarding new employees.

Implementing and training program staff on any new programs or funds as directed.

Performing other related duties as requested by the Program Manager and the Executive Director.

Education Experience Skills and Knowledge

Bachelors degree in an appropriate discipline

A minimum of 2 years experience in a similar function or an equivalent combination of education and experience with grant funding programs.

Project management experience working with projects and programs.

Excellent skills with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat. Survey Monkey an asset.

database management.

Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to set prioritize and meet tight deadlines and deliverables imperative.

Strong ability to take initiative to self-manage and problem-solve.

Experience delivering task-specific training to staff in accordance with procedure and operational guidelines.

Solid client relations experience.

Strong understanding of First Nations culture and worldviews.

Work experience serving First Nations and Indigenous community is a strong asset.

Work experience in the not-for-profit sector is an asset.

Project Management Certificate an asset.

Language:

Excellent communication skills in written and oral English.

Knowledge of Indigenous languages is an asset.

Knowledge of French is an asset.
