DESCRIPTION
The Emergency Communications Center (ECC) Academy Instructor recruitment is an Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) internal recruitment. Only applications from current qualified non-probationary OCFA Fire Communications Dispatchers will be considered. All OCFA experience must be listed on your employment application to be considered.
The ECC is currently accepting applications to fill one (1) ECC Academy Instructor. The selected candidate must agree to a one (1) year assignment. The Academy Instructors assignment will be Friday January 9 2026 through Thursday January 7 2027.
Selected candidates will be responsible for providing primary instruction during the ECC Academy and Primary/Tactical Academy. Under the direction of the ECC Academy Coordinator incumbents will be responsible for preparing and/or delivering training in accordance with the ECC Academy Outline.
WORK SCHEDULE:
During ECC New Hire Academy Academy Instructor will be assigned to a 3/4/12 Administrative Schedule. During Tactical/Primary Academy shifts and hours will vary depending on trainee schedule assignments.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
All OCFA experience must be listed on your employment application to be considered.
- Current non-probationary OCFA Fire Communications Dispatcher

- Minimum of standard rating on most recent performance appraisal
- Communications Training Officer (CTO) Certification
