LOCATION OF POSITION

MDH SETT Hagerstown MD

Main Purpose of Job

This position shall help each resident achieve their best possible health. This positions capacity responsibilities will include directing providing monitoring and/or supervising provision of health care services to and on behalf of Center Individuals. This position will help to coordinate with Physicians Psychologists Certified Nurse Practitioners and all other interdisciplinary individuals to ensure that our residents have adequate nursing support. As neither the Potomac Center of the Secure Evaluation Therapeutic Treatment facility (SETT) does not have an on grounds full time medical provider this position must be able to respond to emergency situations both medical and behavioral in accordance with sound nursing practice and applicable policies and procedures issuing any necessary instructions or directions to staff.

This position must necessarily allocate time in such a way as to ensure services provided in respective areas at all times in full compliance with all applicable standards and requirements inclusive of Standard Nursing Practice Act; Departments of Health and Mental Hygiene and Budget and Management; Office of Health Care Quality; COMAR 10.07.20 and 10.22.10; MEMORANDA OF UNDERSTANDING(S); Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services; ICF-IID; Potomac Center and SETTs Policies and Procedures; and ancillary provisions/practices/protocols arising from or implementing one or more governing standards.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Determinedby the Maryland State Board of Nursing under the licensing requirements forRegistered Nurses.

Experience:Two years ofexperience as a Registered Nurse one year of which must have been in theMedical option.

1. Candidates may substitute thepossession of a Bachelors degree in nursing or a related field from anaccredited college or university for the one year of general experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate should possess the following:
  • Experience leading Registered Nurses and Licensed Practitioner Nurses
  • Experience working with the intellectually disabled population
  • Experience working with a forensic population

LICENSES REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

for positions inthis classification must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse fromthe Maryland State Board of Nursing 4140 Patterson Avenue Baltimore Maryland21215 or possess a current multi-state license in party states that candidateshave declared as primary states of residence.

in thisclassification may be assigned duties which require the operation of anautomobile. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess amotor vehicle operators license valid in the State of Maryland.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
