Introduction

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop and enhance your skills and experience by working as a Lewisham Procurement & Contract Management Apprentice in the IT and Digital team. Apprenticeships give you the opportunity and support to develop new work-placed skills in an organisation committed to your professional success. You will develop your procurement and administrative skills while completing a CIPS Procurement qualification (Level TBC).

Whats the role

Many of the Councils services are delivered through contracts; the advice and guidance from the Procurement team enables the Council to achieve value for money and deliver benefits to our residents and local areas through its sourcing of goods and services. You will work as part of a team of professionals involved in procurement contract management and commercial operations supporting with administrative and business tasks.

What were looking for

You will be a great communicator able to show flexibility and adapt to different challenges as they arise. Working well as part of a team will be of the utmost importance supporting your colleagues by staying organised and completing all tasks to a high standard with accuracy while also being able to work independently. You will need a grasp on basic software such as Outlook for email management Word and Excel for handling data including standard formulas.

Location

The job is primarily based in Laurence House Catford London SE6 4RU but we operate a hybrid approach where you will be required to work both in the office and from home on a regular basis.

Special conditions

  • To be eligible for a position on the Apprenticeship scheme you must
  • Be over the age of 16(there is no upper age limit)
  • Be a Lewisham borough resident (the electoral register will be used to verify this information)
  • Have full residency entitlement there must be no restrictions on your status in the UK (all successful candidates will need to produce their passport once a job offer is made)
  • Be able to pass an initial assessment test in Maths and English
  • Complete the Apprenticeship Application Questions(available to download below)

Salary

27010 per annum (LLW)

N.B: All appointments will be offered at the minimum spinal column point (SCP) for the grade of the role. The only exception to this will be when matching current salary (up to the maximum of the scale) which is subject to evidential proof.
