Job Summary
The Junior Accountant will be responsible for monitoring daily financial activity maintaining accurate cash balances preparing monthly bank reconciliations and supporting budgeting and forecasting functions. This role requires someone detail oriented analytical and highly organized with the ability to work independently and maintain strict accuracy.
The ideal candidate will have real practical experience performing cash management tasks (not only coursework) and the ability to manage financial data across multiple accounts with confidentiality and precision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily cash balance reporting across multiple accounts
- Prepare monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
- Initiate and track cash transfers and account funding
- Monitor cash flow and assist with short- and long-term forecasting
- Maintain budgets and support variance analysis
- Assist with financial statement preparation and supporting schedules
- Ensure accurate record-keeping and documentation
- Collaborate with accounting leadership on process improvements
Qualifications:
- 23 years of hands-on accounting or cash management experience required
- Practical experience performing the duties listed (not just coursework)
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and ability to learn new software
- Advanced Excel skills including VLOOKUP SUMIF and pivot tables
- Strong understanding of financial statements and basic accounting principles
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and meet deadlines
