Job Summary

SUMMARY

At Magnolia internships serve as opportunities for students and new professionals to gain experience in various fields by contributing their skills andexpertisetoward achieving organizational goals.Interns will be assigned to one department for the duration of the semester and specific projects or tasks will be determined per departmental need.Interns work from various Magnolia locations in Waco Texas.The Magnolia Journal Magazine Intern reports to the Editorial Production Director and has no supervisory responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES

  • Complete art production tasks such as keeping magazine printout wall current printing and trimming layouts for review andsetting up templated design documents as applicable
  • Assistin photoshoot production and the execution of tasks such as calling in samples updating shot listsand call sheets andassistingat photoshootsas needed
  • Prepare copy documents issue summaries and sourcebook content for upcoming issues
  • Upkeep Magnolia Journal digital archive
  • Assistin writing and editing assigned storiesasapplicable
  • Complete projects or tasks as instructed by internship supervisor
  • Participate in internship group development and service opportunities throughout semester
  • Collaborate with team members and key stakeholders todeterminethe priority and process of assignments
  • Ensure that projects are on track for correct execution within requireddeadlines
  • Hold all sensitive information with the strictestconfidence
  • Communicate effectively across multiple teams to ensure a cohesive goal isachievable
  • Perform other duties as assigned

ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be a college junior or senior graduatestudent or recent graduate (up to two years postgrad)
  • Must be available to work 15-25 hours weekly for the duration of the internship program

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and arms to reach handle feel; utilize fine motor dexterity of fingers; talk or hear and taste or employee isfrequentlyrequired to stand and walk. The employee isfrequentlyrequired to climb or balance and stoop kneel crouch or crawl. The employee mustfrequentlylift and/or move up to 10pounds andoccasionally lift and/or move up to 25 vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
