Job Summary
Position Title: MS PE Teacher

Position Summary:
Concordia International School ShanghaiMiddle School Physical Education Teacher promotes students physical literacy overall well-being and healthy lifestyle habits through a comprehensive curriculum that includes both PE and essential health instruction. This role involves planning and delivering engaging developmentallyappropriate lessons; teaching sports skills movement concepts and foundational health topics such as nutrition safety and personal wellness. The teacher fosters a positive inclusive and safe learning environment encourages lifelong fitness and healthy decision-making and supports students social-emotional growth. Collaboration with colleagues communication with families contributing to school events and supporting extracurricular athletics are key responsibilities. Strong classroom management enthusiasm for physical activity and the ability to motivate diverse learners are experienceinaquatics group fitness and or mind-body exercisesis preferred.
In order to meet Concordia school-wide learning outcomes (SLOs) and grade level expectations the teacher carries out the following broad and specific responsibilities across the following domains: Planning and Preparation Classroom Management Instruction and Professional Responsibilities.
Concordia seeks specialists who understand MTSS and UDL and can integrate these approaches to create inclusive engaging learning experiences for all students
Requirements:
Education
- Bachelors Degree in relevant subject area.
- A certification in education.
- Advanced degree or specialization training that supports the teaching role preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years successful teaching in a school setting.
- Teaching in the subject area and with the age of students assigned.
- Working successfully with an ethnically diverse population.
- Working with students with learning differences.
- Working with students who are English Language Learners (ELL).
- Working in an international school setting and familiarity with the American educational system preferred.
- Creating units of work using Universal by Design (UbD) strategies preferred.
Skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of the developmental needs and milestones of students in the age group you are teaching.
- Knowledgeable about:
- Developing appropriate practices
- Using a variety of formative assessments progress monitoring tools and differentiated learning strategies
- Best practices content and pedagogy
- Applying SHAPE standards in high school PE and Health
- Effective communicator communicates well with a diverse community of parents staff and leaders; proficient writing skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong group management skills and routines
- Ability to contribute in the area of coaching after school athletics/sports
- Excellent collaborator

- Additional employment expectations:
- Collaborate with Teaching Assistants/Support Staff in working with or monitoring children and managing clerical expectations and guidelines for these adults in the learning environment and help them understand their roles/responsibilities.
- Undertake additional duties that may reasonably be assigned or requested by the Supervisor such as leading student trips serving as chaperon roles as needed.
