JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE OF POSITION: Head Secretary and Assistant to the Principal
Required Skills and Aptitudes:
- High school diploma
- Computer/typing experience
- Bookkeeping experience
- Aptitude for organization and providing customer service
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to facilitate office team
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
JOB GOAL: To assure the smooth and efficient operation of the school office for maximum positive impact on the education of children.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Screen visitors and telephone calls directing them to the appropriate person/department. Call parents back to verify the person calling is on the student contact list.
- Assist with all clerical responsibilities associated with building financial operations.
- Compose type and copy correspondence reports bulletins requisitions and other materials.
- Obtain gather and organize pertinent data as needed.
- Maintain a calendar and schedule appointments as requested.
- Maintain an orderly filing system.
- Schedule appointments and assemble material for meetings.
- Assist with correspondence to parents regarding attendance and fees.
- Take calls from parents to update information and messages for school staff.
- Post activities on building calendar as necessary.
- Help with the student management system run reports and set up the school year calendar.
- Generate weekly reports.
- Manage and maintain collaborative culture among the front office team.
- Keep abreast of new information innovative ideas and techniques.
- Adhere to all district health and safety policies.
- Other duties as assigned by the head secretary or administrative staff which are consistent with the general requirements and qualifications of the position.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Ten month
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the Building Principal
