We are seeking skilled and safety-conscious Craft Electriciansto join our Kennecott Utah Copper this role youll be responsible for ensuring the reliable operation of electrical equipment and infrastructure across one of the worlds most iconic open-pit mining operations.


Reporting to the Supervisor Electrical Maintenance working 4 on 4 off continuous roster your responsibilities will include:

Performing troubleshooting and maintenance on electrical systems from 12V DC to 13.8kV AC including switchgear transformers and distribution panels.
Diagnosing and repairing AC and DC motors including motor control circuits and starters.
Maintaining and troubleshooting variable frequency drives (VFDs) and soft starters.
Installing calibrating and troubleshooting instrumentation devices such as proximity sensors level sensors RTDs (Resistance Temperature Detectors) and pressure sensors.
Inspecting testing and repairing electrical cables terminations and connections.
Reading and interpreting electrical schematics wiring diagrams and technical manuals.
Ensuring compliance with electrical safety standards lockout/tagout procedures and site-specific policies.
Collaborating with engineering and operations teams to support system upgrades and commissioning.
Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and contributing to a high-performance maintenance team.

What youll bring

High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in electrical technology preferred.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial or mining electrical maintenance.

Proven experience working with medium voltage (MV) systems up to 13.8kV.

Solid knowledge of electrical troubleshooting techniques and proficiency with test equipment such as multimeters and megohmmeters.

Familiarity with PLC systems and basic automation controls is a plus.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced mining environment.

Valid drivers license and ability to pass site-specific safety training.


Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. climb ladders and work in confined spaces.

Willingness to work in various environmental conditions.

Availability for overtime and rotating 12-hour shifts (day and night).
