About this unit

Twenty-five operating rooms performing a vast variety of operative procedures/surgical specialties including Trauma and Open-Heart Surgery Programs. The department provides elective and emergency surgery Monday - Sunday 24 hours per day. Rotating call holiday and weekend assignments.

Scope of work

Under the direction of the nurse manager or other nursing leader the assistant nurse manager has responsibility for the effective implementation of the philosophy goals policies and procedures of the hospital and the nursing department and their effect on patient care in the department.

Qualifications

• Effective June 1 2025 Bachelors degree in nursing (BSN) Required.
• 2 years of relevant nursing experience Required.
• Participation in leadership activities (Unit hospital or system Shared Governance meetings Precepting Charge nurse role) Preferred.
• MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required.
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support Required.
