Summary
The Firewatch / Security Associate is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the property during non-operational hours (6pm-6am). This role focuses on monitoring building conditions detecting potential hazards and responding promptly to emergencies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Conduct hourly walkthroughs of the hotel property to check for signs of fire smoke or other hazards.
- Monitor for unauthorized personnel and report any security concerns immediately.
- Document each walkthrough by recording observations and timestamping a photo in the watch log.
- Contact hotel leadership and/or emergency services in case of fire smoke detection or other critical incidents.
- Oversee generator functionality during shifts; report any irregularities (training provided as needed).
- Maintain clear communication with leadership regarding safety and security updates.
Job Requirements
- Ability to remain alert and responsive during 10-12 hour shift.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
- Must be dependable professional consistent and serious about the tasks at hand.
- Excellent attention to detail.
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This position is located in a new hotel that is currently under construction. Conditions include active construction areas limited lighting and temporary utilities.
Physical Demands
The role requires the ability to walk the halls and stairwells of a four-story hotel at least hourly during each shift. This includes climbing stairs and remaining on foot for extended periods of time.
Safety Requirements
Must be aware and conform to all safety requirements when in the facility or in the field performing duties for the company.
