Job Summary
LTS Science TeacherWe seek an experienced energetic science teacher to serve Rutland Middle Schools learners. This position requires a dynamic individual to teach science at the middle school (grades 7 and 8) level. Applicants must have a working knowledge of the Vermont Transferable Skills and Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). Applicants should be willing and able to teach biology earth science and physical science in a team approach. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in content as well as technology integration and STEM principles. Desired is a background in Project-Based Learning and instructional strategies that support brain-based learning concepts. Very importantly we are seeking an individual who can enter a collaborative partnership with colleagues and who is willing to play an active role in a professional learning community to support the education of all students. The ideal candidate will be certified to teach in Vermont and will have a strong background in content as well as proven classroom management and instructional Middle School is an amazing place that fosters creativity curiosity collaboration and communication. Our staff is student-centered driven and committed to our students academic and emotional success. We seek a candidate who will embrace a team-based integrated approach to teaching and learning. Our house structure allows for meaningful collaboration between educators and increases a sense of community for our students. Rutland Middle School takes advantage of our amazing location by offering a six-week Lifelong Sports program for students and educators to get out into our community and learn a new sport including downhill skiing cross-country skiing curling skating and more!The successful candidate will hold (or be able to obtain) a 7-12 level license in Vermont.
