Job Summary

PORTFOLIO ADMINISTRATION MANAGER-BUSINESS BANKING

This role will manage a team of Portfolio Managers for the Business Banking (BB) and Small Business Banking (SBB) portfolios to oversee and support the credit and risk management in full compliance with bank policies and procedures and in a manner which contributes to UMBs overall growth and risk management and compliance goals.

How you will spend your time:

  • Coordinate and monitor portfolio workflow process and procedures.

  • Maintain compliance with UMB policies and procedures and in a manner which contributes to the companys overall growth and client retention goals.

  • Develop train and supervise PMs with accountability for effectiveness productivity and team performance.

  • Ensure quality and timely underwriting for the completion of renewals annual reviews loan modifications and migrations.

  • As needed complete financial spreads analyze financial statements and underwrite to complete Loan Proposals with proper loan structures risk identification and risk mitigants.

  • As needed complete or negotiate workout credit terms engage with UMB Legal UMB SAM and outside counsel to coordinate commercial loan decisions and ongoing commercial loan administration.

  • Recognize and manage early warning signs for the portfolio on a recurring basis and follow established protocol for actions that need to be taken.

  • Manage and administer loans identified as Strategic Asset Management (SAM) loans Manage and monitor SAM reports as applicable such as collateral impairment and watch list reports

We are excited to talk with you if you have:

  • Bachelors degree in Business Accounting Finance or related area with at least 6 hours of accounting

  • 5 years in Business/Commercial Banking including 3 years with specific lending and/or underwriting experience

  • 3 years business loan workout and collections experience

  • 2 years management or supervisory experience

  • Strong credit skills with the ability to make credit decisions

  • Strong financial analytical skills with ability to solve complex problems by interpreting data and results

  • Senior-level credit underwriting and accounting knowledge

  • Excellent writing skills to create credit memos

  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills to communicate with Relationship Manager and Credit Managers

  • Ability to work independently

  • Expert-level of proficiency with Word and Excel to create tables and spreadsheets for credit memos

Compensation Range:

$69230.00 - $149000.00
