Location: York
Salary: 40000 - 60000 (dependent on experience)

Join a well-established legal practice in York as an Employment Law Solicitor where youll handle a diverse and challenging caseload representing both employers and employees. The Role
Youll be working within our busy employment law department managing a varied caseload that spans the full spectrum of employment matters. From tribunal representation to advisory work youll gain exposure to complex employment issues while building strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle a diverse caseload of employment law matters for both employers and employees
- Represent clients at Employment Tribunals and Employment Appeal Tribunals
- Provide strategic employment law advice on disciplinary procedures grievances and HR policies
- Draft employment contracts settlement agreements and tribunal documentation
- Conduct negotiations and mediations in employment disputes
- Advise on redundancy procedures TUPE transfers and restructuring matters
- Handle discrimination harassment and whistleblowing claims
- Provide training sessions to employer clients on employment law compliance
- Manage cases from initial instruction through to resolution
What Were Looking For
- Qualified Solicitor with employment law experience (2 years PQE preferred)
- Strong knowledge of employment legislation and tribunal procedures
- Experience representing clients at Employment Tribunals
- Excellent advocacy and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage a busy and varied caseload effectively
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Client-focused approach with excellent communication skills
- Commercial awareness and business development mindset
- Ambition to grow within a specialist employment law practice
