Main purpose of the role:

Simmons Adaptive are keen to hear from newly qualified or junior lawyers with prior commercial contracts or DORA experience who are interested in supporting a prominent financial institution on an interim assignment.

This is expected to be a full-time role starting in January for 6 months.

The role will be focussed on the remediation of DORA non-critical contracts and will entail:

  • Reviewing amendments made to standard DORA Non-Critical Addenda
  • Assessing the acceptability of supplier amendments using an established DORA Non-Critical Playbook;
  • Liaising with internal Procurement and IT teams regarding supplier mark-ups;
  • Collaborating with the legal contractor responsible for DORA critical contracts to ensure consistency and alignment;
  • Escalating risks delays or issues to senior legal management as appropriate;
  • Preparing responses to suppliers including drafting emails and contract mark-ups;
  • Supporting Procurement with project management tasks such as updating status trackers.

Person specification:

  • You are a junior or newly qualified qualified lawyer.
  • You have prior experience preferably within financial services.
  • You have foundational understanding of commercial contracts with regulatory-driven remediation work an advantage.
  • You have good drafting skills some negotiation experience preferable.
  • You have the ability to handle high volumes and competing priorities.
  • You have strong communication skills.
  • You collaborate well with supporting teams.
  • You will be required to hold he relevant right to work in the UK (visa sponsorship is not available).
