Job Summary
Zooxs internship program provides hands-on experiences with state of the art technology mentorship from some of the industrys brightest minds and the opportunity to play a part in our success. In this Role You will...
- Assist in mapping and creating Data Flow Diagrams (DFDs) to visually represent how customer data is captured processed stored and shared across various applications systems and vendors.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate data security risks.
- Work closely within the InfoSec team to address security concerns and help with incident response.
- Support the development and implementation of data protection strategies and initiatives.
- Review and improve InfoSec controls to ensure they are up to date and fully applied.
- Query databases and manipulate data to prepare datasets for analysis focusing on human behavior.
- Assist in creating reports charts and graphs to present findings and insights on data flows to stakeholders.
- Participate in meetings and contribute to discussions on data security issues and solutions.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Information Security or related field
- Basic understanding of privacy data management principles and database concepts.
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles including threat modeling application security testing and secure software development practices.
- A passion for computers and security.
- Desire to learn and have a strong sense of curiosity.
- Able to commit to a 12-week internship beginning in May or June of 2026 and are available full-time (M-F 9am - 5 pm).
- Ability to relocate to the Bay Area California for the duration of the internship.
Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with the capacity to break down complex concepts for various audiences.
- Familiarity with data flow diagram methodologies or a strong interest in learning visual process documentation.
- Familiarity with networking concepts (how websites work how ports and IP addresses work how encryption works etc.).
Bonus Qualifications
- SQL knowledge
- Knowledge of data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau
- Familiarity with data protection tools and technologies is a plus.
The monthly salary range for this position is $5500 to $7500. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level of education. Additional benefits may include medical insurance and a housing stipend (relocation assistance will be offered based on eligibility).
