Job Description
The intern will have NPI NTI program and factory issues lab activities including online data collection and report review consolidation. Data mining for ongoing production for Stator bars and vendor insulation comparisons or quantitative analysis. Additionally the assignment will be hands on lab activates helping the team work on RCAs testing report completion and cost out initiatives. Any engineering disciple is acceptable for the position not just Mechanical or Materials Engineering.
Project Outcomes:
Clear understanding of Generator Engineering and responsibilities. Support factory expansion qualifications and requirement identification. Developing a GEV internal network of engineers and leaders to leverage in the future. Understanding of non-metallic materials challenges and testing. Vision of GEV business and future growth.
Primary Skills Developed:
Mechanical and electrical testing requirements and equipment for Generators. RCA process for trouble shooting identifying resolving manufacturing and site generator insulation issues. Team cooperation and coordination to focus and drive productivity. How a service oriented engineering team works and interacts to solve complex issues.
Basic Qualifications:
Pursuing an undergrad or graduate degree in Mechanical electrical or industrial engineering discipline.
Minimum GPA of 4.0/5.0.
Desired Qualifications:
Clear communication working within the Schenectady lab facility EHS focused strong interpersonal skills.

The pay for this position ranges from $25-34/hr. based on years of undergraduate/graduate field of study completed.
This position is also eligible for:
Relocation Assistance:Co-op/Interns will be reimbursed for reasonable proper and documented expenditures incurred while initially reporting to work and returning to school/home upon completion of the assignment. Employees with a permanent address greater than 50 miles away from the work location are eligible.
Housing Allowance:Co-op/Interns employees receive a weekly housing allowance to help off-set living expenses when the co-op/Interns permanent residence is at least 50 miles away from the work location.
