Job Summary

Role: AirWatch MDM Engineer

Client: Metropolitan Council
Location: On-site across the seven-county metro area (primary site: St. Paul MN)
Type: Full-time Staff Augmentation

Project Overview

The engineer will support and maintain the current VMware Workspace ONE (AirWatch) environment while partnering with the Endpoint Engineering Team on planning and executing a future migration to Microsoft Intune. The role is hands-on and requires in-person support at Metro Council facilities.

Core Responsibilities

  • Manage and support the AirWatch MDM platform: device enrollment policy configuration compliance and application deployment for iOS and Android.

  • Provide Tier 2/3 mobile support across iOS Android and Windows.

  • Manage cellular carrier portals (Verizon AT&T T-Mobile) for activations and support.

  • Work with security teams to ensure mobile standards and compliance.

  • Track performance reporting and implement improvements.

  • Support Intune migration planning: assessments documentation pilots and collaboration with stakeholders.

  • Create and maintain SOPs runbooks and knowledge base articles.

  • Share industry trends and best practices with leadership.

  • Provide knowledge transfer.


Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements

  • 3 years hands-on VMware Workspace ONE / AirWatch administration.

  • 2 years combined experience with AirWatch mobile OS platforms and enterprise mobility architecture.

  • 2 years experience managing cellular activations via Verizon/AT&T/T-Mobile portals.

  • 1 year experience with Microsoft Intune Azure AD and Microsoft Endpoint Manager.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Intune deployments or migration work.

  • Microsoft certifications (MD-102 SC-300 AZ-104 etc.)

  • Familiarity with Zero Trust and conditional access.

  • IAM integration experience.

  • PowerShell or automation scripting.
