Job Summary

Overview

The Corporate Vice President of Accounting is an executive responsible for overseeing technical and operational accounting operations ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial reporting maintaining strong internal controls and supporting strategic financial planning. This role leads the accounting department ensures compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards while collaborating with executive leadership to drive financial performance.

Responsibilities

Position Responsibilities

  • Oversee preparation of monthly quarterly and annual financial statements.
  • Ensure accuracy timeliness and compliance with GAAP and applicable regulations.
  • Manage external audits and coordinate with independent auditors.
  • Develop and implement financial policies procedures and controls to safeguard the companys assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Maintain strong internal controls to reduce financial risks.
  • Coordinate compliance with tax laws and coordinate with tax advisors.
  • Oversee risk assessments related to financial reporting and controls.
  • State reporting and census data.
  • Apply knowledge of SOX compliance to support accurate financial reporting and mitigate risk

Qualifications

Education and Training:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential required/preferred.

Experience:

  • 10 years of progressive accounting experience including leadership roles.
  • Deep knowledge of GAAP financial reporting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong leader with a proven history of guiding teams driving results and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Possess strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Apply comprehensive knowledge of SOX compliance.
