Data Science Director CMS

The Data Science Director supports our CMS (Commercial and Money Movement Solutions) teams acts as the primary lead and Data Science evangelist for our internal stakeholders in CMS.  We are seeking strategic and analytical thinker to shape data driven strategies for Visas CMS teams to support their tactical and strategic requirements. The role will partner with our Global teams that draws on Data Science capabilities to grow support our stakeholders.

This role can also be based in London (UK).

What we expect of you day to day.

• Provides thought leadership to the CMS Europe team and the leadership team in data science and analytics techniques and business applications to unlock the value of Visas unique data set
• Lead a team of 4 people
• Understand strategic (i.e. 3/5-year plan) and tactical needs (i.e. annual plan) for our stakeholders can create roadmaps and deliver them.
• Evangelizes the creative use of data and analytics to solve business problems with internal clients 
• Identifies how data science and predictive techniques can be used to enhance existing CMSs including core applications consumer applications and our Value-added services teams.
• Partners with our Global CMS IDA team to support and leverage any global solutions to better support our stakeholders.
• Able to lead the delivery of data science and analytics projects (utilising delivery resources) during times of capacity issues
• Identifies trends in our client work to inform Visas data CMS development path
• Proactively identifies opportunities to drive increase revenue in the region to support delivery of the business plan

This is a hybrid position. This requires 3 days per week (Tuesdays Wednesdays and Thursdays) attendance in the office.

Qualifications :

• Extensive experience in data science or analytical functions
• Experience leading teams and/or projects that deliver data driven insights
• Experience in payment retail banking or retail merchant industries
• Proven experience building leading and inspiring high-performing virtual teams to deliver against clients objectives
• Operates as a thought leader with the ability to guide influence and inspire performance across the data science function and sales teams
• Team oriented collaborative diplomatic and flexible style with the ability to tailor data driven results to various audience levels
• Strong consultative skills to establish effective relationships with our clients and the sales teams
• Ability to communicate at all levels with both business and technology leaders to build consensus and influence Visas direction
• Results oriented with very strong analytical consultative and problem-solving skills with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor
