Main Responsibilities
Research Analysis and drafting
- Contribute to the planning research and drafting of analytical and conceptual reports to provide economic and policy analysis of trade policy issues of relevance to the OECD Trade Committee.
- Provide policy guidance as it relates to trade policy issues under assigned area of responsibility.
- Provide impact analysis of relevant international trade policy initiatives.
- Draft papers develop and maintain databases conduct economic modelling and analysis and respond to technical requests in areas of expertise.
Liaison representation and meetings
- Participate to the organisation of workshops webinars and events organised by the OECD including by interacting with prospective speakers.
- Collaborate with other Divisions and Directorates and contribute to horizontal and multidisciplinary projects and outputs as needed.
- Build and maintain a network of contacts with government officials analysts and experts in donor agencies international organisations research institutions universities and NGOs.
- Present work at internal and external meetings take an active part in discussions with colleagues and delegates as needed and carry out revisions.
- Exchange with other Directorates and participate to relevant seminars and meetings.
Other duties
- Participate to discussions and meetings of the unit and the division; attend TAD meetings.
- Carry out other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
Ideal Candidate Profile
Academic Background
- An advanced university degree in economics or related subjects.
Professional Background
- Three to five years of experience in quantitative policy research and analysis with strong quantitative content.
- Proven capacity for sound analytical and policy-orientated work; ability to effectively execute research or project assignments and to synthesise technical and policy-orientated issues for a policy-minded audience at governmental or intergovernmental level.
- Demonstrated experience in drafting policy papers or reports and an ability to translate technical information into clear concise and policy relevant messages.
- Experience in public presentation.
Tools
- Proficiency in analysis of quantitative information and experience with advanced analytical tools.
- Willingness to learn and ability to adapt to new statistical and analytical techniques.
