Coordinate day-to-day activities of the Amputee Clinic and the WSIB Specialty Amputee Program

  1. Co-ordinate day-to-day activities of the Amputee Clinic including (but not limited to):
  • Manage clinical waiting list
  • Monitor clinic supplies & equipment inventory
  1. Involvement in research projects as required
  2. Facilitate program planning and development. Coordinate program evaluation research and outcome management.
  3. Facilitate the development of clinical procedures and guidelines and the implementation of evidence-based practice.
  4. Liaise with the Amputee Unit Prosthetic and Orthotic Department. 
  5. Coordinate and execute all necessary elements to support contract fulfilment with WSIB including but not limited to referral triage;  patient bookings; report generation coordinating service providers around the patients needs; engage specialists and treatment teams; collaborative assessments with the team; communication and reporting to WSIB quality assurance reports billing and invoice generation/submission liaise between patient team and WSIB Return to work related activities coordination with inpatient Amputee service;
  6. Supporting the Limb Preservation Strategy clinic support (triage referrals engage appropriate team members liaise with community referral sources and provider; coordinate care amongst clinical team and prosthetics department)
  7. Build/develop relationships and partnerships with internal/external colleagues and contacts including promoting and raising awareness of the profile of the clinic.
  8. Provide technical or professional advice & guidance.
  9. Encourage the efficient use of resources
  10. Be aware of conditions and measures that may affect the safety of patients residents students employees volunteers physicians and visitors including:
  • Compliance with the safety standards of the hospital and applicable legislation
  • Identification and prevention of safety issues and problems
  • Taking corrective action where possible
  • Attendance at safety meetings/training/updates in accordance with the Centres standards

Qualifications :

Education:

Required (Minimum):

  • Bachelors Degree in the relevant discipline

Desired/Preferred:

  • Masters degree in Physiotherapy Occupational Therapy Health Science or Health Administration

 Accreditation/Certification/Designation or license through a professional body or association i.e. RN CHRP CPP etc.:                                                                                                                 

Required (Minimum):

  • Registration with applicable regulatory associations i.e. (College of Occupational Therapists (COTO) or the College of Physiotherapists)

Experience (number of years of job-related working experience):

Required (Minimum):

  • 3 5 years of previous health care experience with at least 3 years in Amputee rehabilitation
  • Demonstrated team leadership skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Amputee rehabilitation
  • Intermediate computer competency including database management
  • Working knowledge of the role of professional college and association
  • Working knowledge of program evaluation research and outcome measurement
  • Previous experience in report and/or proposal writing
  • Effective interpersonal organizational time management and communication skills (both written & verbal)
  • Ability to multitask
