The School of Education at California State University San Marcos invites applications for the position of Bilingual Program Lecturer. This lecturers role supports bilingual teacher candidates through high-quality instruction. The lecturer plays a critical role in ensuring candidates progress toward credential and program requirements while maintaining alignment with California Commission on Teacher Credentialing standards. Minimum qualifications:

  • A masters/terminal degree in the area of instruction or a closely related field.
  • Proficient in Spanish
  • California Credential matching Program of Interest (Multiple Subject with Bilingual Authorization and Single Subject with Bilingual Authorization)
  • Per California State Universitys Out-of-State Employment Policy the CSU is prohibited from hiring employees to perform CSU-related work outside California. Working in the State of California is a condition of employment.

Preferred qualifications:

  • A doctorate degree in the area of instruction or a closely related field.
  • Experience with teaching teacher candidates
  • Experience in Dual Language Classrooms
  • Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate intercultural competence and a commitment to serving a diverse campus community as it relates to teaching and as applicable service.

Salary commensurate with degree level and experience

  • AnticipatedHiring Salary Range: $5507 - $8000 per full-time month

The salary schedule information for the Lecturer Academic Year Classification is available based on the following ranges:

  • CSU Classification Salary RangeLecturer A - AY: $5507 - $6677 per full-time month
  • CSU Classification Salary RangeLecturer B - AY: $6221 - $13224 per full-time month

The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range commensurate with education and experience.
