Position Overview
The IT Support Desk Lead will manage internal support teams located across multiple sites in the Southwestern United States. This role is pivotal in ensuring efficient and effective support for all employees thereby mitigating risks and enabling them to achieve their goals through technology. This includes providing executive-level support to our C-suite executives. Based at our corporate headquarters in Houston TX the position requires occasional travel to our remote sites to oversee and manage teams as well as to engage directly with business users at those locations. Additionally the role involves ensuring compliance with ITIL standards and fostering the development of world-class support teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Management: Lead and manage a team of IT support specialists in the office and across remote locations. Foster a collaborative environment and ensure team members are well-trained and equipped to handle support requests efficiently.
  • Executive Support: Provide high-level IT support to C-suite executives ensuring their technical needs are met promptly and effectively.
  • ITIL Standards: Implement and maintain ITIL best practices within the support desk operations to ensure consistent and high-quality service delivery.
  • Issue Resolution: Oversee the resolution of escalated and priority issues ensuring timely and effective solutions. Understand where each associate is looking to go in their career and provide mentoring and growth opportunities.
  • Performance Evaluation: Monitor and evaluate team performance providing feedback and guidance to improve service levels.
  • Policy Development: Develop and implement policies and procedures to streamline support operations and enhance service delivery.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external vendors to ensure effective service and support agreements.
  • Budget Management: Oversee the budget for the IT support desk ensuring efficient allocation of resources.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience in building and running world-class IT support teams.
  • Demonstrated experience in standing up and providing executive-level IT support to C-suite executives.
  • Familiarity with ITIL standards and best practices; ITIL certification is a plus.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate mentor and guide team members.
  • Comprehensive understanding of IT systems networks and core user software; experience with technology relevant to the oil and gas industry is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise effectively with executives and business stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues. Leverages logic and common sense to help with problem solving.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in computer science data science mathematics or a related field
  • Ten (10) years experience in relevant roles
  • Experience with FreshService ITSM tool with a plus
  • Experience with reservoir engineering software such as Whitson and Combocurve a plus
  • Familiarity with data governance practices and systems integration.
