Our client a leading Software Information and Communication Technologies company operates internationally (Athens Brussels Luxembourg Copenhagen Stockholm London Nicosia Hong-Kong Valetta etc). Our client is a renowned supplier of IT services to government institutions multinational corporations public administrations and multinational companies research and academic institutes.

Role Overview

Our client currently has a vacancy for an Application Infrastructure Engineer to offer his/her services as an expert remotely within the context of the first assignment the successful candidate will be integrated in the team of the company that will closely cooperate with a major clients IT team.

Requirements

University Degree in IT and at least 10 years of IT professional experience;
Minimum of 6 years of experience working as an IT professional in mid/large IT infrastructure environments including deployment support and maintenance of applications ;
A minimum of 5 years of experience working as an IT professional in the area of application administration;
A minimum of 2 years of experience with micro-services container orchestration and container-based stacks such as Docker or Kubernetes;
A minimum of 2 years of experience administering and supporting Elasticsearch;
A minimum of 5 years of experience working with enterprise Microsoft or Linux server solutions;
A minimum of 2 years of experience working with Public or Hybrid Cloud services and solutions (AZURE or AWS) would be an asset;
Good knowledge of the deployment and administration of Elasticsearch clusters;
Good knowledge of micro-services container orchestration and container-based stacks using Kubernetes Helm charts Docker and Rancher;
Good knowledge of configuration management concepts and technologies (e.g. Puppet Ansible Chocolatey);
Good knowledge of shell and/or PowerShell scripting;
Good knowledge of ITIL including the incident change and release management processes;
Good knowledge of DEVOPS will be an asset;
Good knowledge of relational databases (e.g. MS SQL PostgreSQL) and how they interact with applications will be an asset;
Good knowledge of Kong API Gateway will be an asset;
Good knowledge of Public or Hybrid Cloud services and solutions (Azure or AWS) will be an asset;
Relevant certifications would be considered advantageous;
Excellent command of the English language.

Responsibilities

Application installation configuration and administration in production and non-production environments;
Application monitoring performance tuning and continuous improvement of the efficiency and quality of service;
Applications support and maintenance activities such as incident change release and problem resolution;
Writing and validating application procedures manuals including troubleshooting guides backup and restore plans;
Automating administrative procedures for recurring system administration activities and provide installation and technical support documentation where required;
Contributing to the structuring maintenance and development of the technical knowledgebase supporting the ICT Operations activities;
Reporting on application availability performance capacity and overall usage where required.
