Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Desktop Support Technician to join our team as a 1099 independent contractor to support an onsite desk setup and end-user computing (EUC) project

The ideal candidate has experience with on-site hardware deployment workstation installations and basic network connectivity testing. You must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment managing physical equipment coordinating with site contacts and following structured checklists to ensure high-quality delivery.

Scope of Activities

Includes Desk set-up activities :

  • Understanding the requirement of the activity (location no of desks to be prepared floor plan network set up etc..)
  • Provide contact details of all the FEs who will be performing the activity
  • Incase of large desk set up someone senior from Styxtech to be present physically to ensure work is done properly
  • Clearly explain the work timings of all FEs and ensure there are no unnecessary breaks in between the activity (apart from Lunch break)
  • FEs need to be ready to travel between sites (incase of same location)
  • Prepare a plan (how many FTEs required to set up desks governance mechanism checklist validation testing of every desk installed)
  • Present the plan to LTIM and seek feedback
  • Desk set up activities :
  • Collect equipment and place them in designated area
  • Unboxing all monitors
  • Assembling LCD screens with stands.
  • Place monitors on respective room tables / desks.
  • Adjust the height of the desk once installed and ensure there are no wires hanging out and are neatly wrapped in a wrap up cloth ensuring safety in the designated space.
  • Prepare inventory file with all monitor pictures including S/N and Service Tags.
  • Collect all waste materials (Shoppers paper monitor boxes) separately and dispose of them properly. Empty monitor boxes once they have been set up need to be disposed of properly in the designated area as per site POCs instructions at the end of each day.
  • If there are old monitors keyboards mice webcams to be replaced with the new equipment then safely assemble them in the designated area / room by dismantling them appropriately without causing any defect to the equipment and as advised by the site POC.
  • Prepare an Excel sheet map version for tracking.
  • Thoroughly clean all rooms after the set up.
  • Take pictures as evidence of each desk once set up and share with LTIM / upload pictures at the end of day
  • Testing & Equipment Distribution:
  • Test all desks according to the required criteria
  • In parallel distribute notebooks and mobile phones across both buildings.
  • Connect and check LAN ports in the desk / connected to Port replicators.
  • Cable & Monitor Management:
    - Reconnect old monitors to power cables
    - Sort and organize all old cables
    - Categorize cables (HDMI power etc.) separately
    - Review and finalized cable arrangements on all desks
