Position Purpose / Summary

TheConstruction Manager an experienced and dynamic to oversee the implementation and management of Building Management Systems (BMS) and light current systems for mega construction projects. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of relevant experience with a proven track record in managing large-scale construction projects.



Responsibilities

Key Areas of Responsibility

  1. Ensure a safe working environment on site for all employees subcontractors suppliers Clients and visitors. Lead the achievement of company safety targets and zero tolerance of unsafe working practices and occurrences
  2. Develop and lead the project excution plan including scope schedule budget and resource requirements
  3. Developing trust and managing the relationship with customers and ensuring a shared understanding of key issues between all parties is maintained maintain customer relationships at the appropriate project management level
  4. Support project manager in the contractual requirements of the project to ensure Honeywells risk exposure is minimised and controlled through timely responses and internal escalation. Make sure that contracual obligation are delivered on time.
  5. Own the project site schedule and ensure timely delivery in terms of cost specifications and client satisfaction.
  6. Manage and coordinate cross-functional teams including engineers technicians and subcontractors. Foster a collaborative and productive team environment.
  7. Implement the company QA/QC procedures and ensure works meet quality standards and specifications.
  8. Assess project progress productivity performance and implement action for improvement pre-emptively.
  9. Work with the planning team to develop detailed and accurate work schedules daily and weekly metrics and reporting data.
  10. Prepare project reports including progress performance EVM forecast risks and mitigation plan.
  11. Ensure the keeping of accurate and up-to-date daily records of site progress and key issues through site diaries.
  12. Provide input on all VOs and contractual claims ensuring that the construction-related substantiation in notifications and follow-up is clearly defined accurate and demonstrable.
  13. Follow up and track all Retention and Defects Liability Period punch-lists/snags to ensure close out of work packages and release of retention monies.
  14. Direct the day to day operations of the project teams.
  15. Define all subcontract /supply requirements and work with Supply Chain to ensure all subcontractor/supplier contracts and orders are appropriate for the project from a scope/cost and risk viewpoint. Lead or participate in negotiations as necessary

Qualifications/ Experience/ Knowledge

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 5-10 years total experience in project management and consraction MEP mega projects for BMS electrical or low-voltage systems projects
  • MBA PMP PRINCE2 and/or similar project management certification is a must.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Fluency in French is an advantage.
  • Proficient in project management methodologies tools and software (e.g. MS Project Primavera P6) and other relevant applications.
  • Demonstrated experience in safety and safety management on large commercial and infrastructure projects
  • Demonstrated project experience involving the integration of multiple technologies preferably in technology systems for applications such as correctional facilities building management technology information technology or network solutions
  • Capacity to deliver against multiple and competing objectives.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills. Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients contractors and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrable customer relation skills
  • Proven commercial/contractual acumen
  • Excellent computer written and oral communication and negotiation skills.
  • Able to work cooperatively and provide technical direction in a team environment
  • The ability to work under pressure
