The Opportunity

We are seeking a proactive and thoughtful Facilities Manager to oversee a diverse portfolio across the Illawarra and Southern Region while being primarily based with the client in Parramatta. This is a role that balances independence and teamwork and is ideal for someone calm under pressure organised and confident managing multiple priorities.

You will work closely with the Operations Manager and a wider support network while leading day-to-day operations maintenance activity compliance contractor management and stakeholder coordination. This role would suit an internal team member seeking a 3 month secondment opportunity with potential for permanent employment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day facilities operations across regional sites ensuring safe compliant and high-quality service delivery.
  • Coordinate planned and reactive maintenance ensuring works are completed safely and to standard.
  • Build supportive and professional relationships with site stakeholders and contractors.
  • Monitor budgets operational expenditure and forecasting requirements.
  • Oversee contractor performance and ensure WHS environmental and statutory requirements are met.
  • Prepare regular reporting insights and documentation to support decision-making.
  • Contribute to a culture of collaboration wellbeing and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure CMMS data integrity across all activities.
  • Support operational planning and problem-solving with a composed solutions-focused approach.

Skills Experience & Knowledge

Essential:

  • Demonstrated experience in Facilities Management or a similar operational role.
  • Strong understanding of WHS quality risk and environmental compliance.
  • Ability to work calmly and professionally in dynamic or high-pressure environments.
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills.
  • Confidence managing contractors stakeholders and competing operational needs.
  • Ability to travel regularly throughout the Illawarra and Southern Region.
  • Competency with CMMS systems and general IT applications (Word Excel Outlook).

Desirable:

  • Qualifications in Facilities Management Trades Business Asset Management or related fields.
  • Experience working in government or highly regulated environments.
  • Additional training in WHS risk QA or environmental systems.
  • Exposure to large complex or multi-site portfolios.

Workplace Flexibility

This role is primarily based on-site in Parramatta with travel to Illawarra/Southern Region. Hybrid flexibility (1 day WFH per week) may be available depending on operational requirements and onboarding. Possible flexibility to be based in Illawarra/Southern Region.
