The Kingdom East School District seeks a 1.0 grades 5/6 Humanities Teacher to serve at Millers Run School (PreK- grade 8) providing Humanities instruction aligned to practices assessment and curricula adopted by the school/district. The Middle School Humanities Teacher will be part of a collaborative team utilizing best practice to provide integrated reading writing and social studies instruction within a collaborative multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS). Experience with the C3 Framework Project based learning and knowledge in developmentally appropriate best practice instruction for reading and writing are beneficial. The grades 5/6 Humanities Teacher will work closely with an instructional team including KESD Instructional Coaches the Principal and the KESD Director of Curriculum and Instruction. The pay range for this position is currently $44232-$ Run School strives to offer a highly collaborative student-centered learning environment which allows plenty of opportunity for outdoor and experiential education project based learning and a development of a sense of place. Experience with Responsive Classroom and PBIS is beneficial but not Kingdom East School District is located in the heart of a vibrant community in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. We operate seven preK-8th grade schools ranging from 60 to 500 students. Our high school students have choice and may opt to attend one of the traditional independent schools -- Lyndon Institute or St. Johnsbury Academy -- or another high school of their are located about 3 hours from Montreal Boston and Portland ME. Our region is known for breathtaking views and access to great skiing hiking mountain biking fishing canoeing and other outdoor opportunities. We are close to the White Mountains and the Green Mountains. Both Littleton NH and St. Johnsbury VT have numerous fine and performing arts venues.
