The Culinary team at Aldersgate is currently hiring for Full-Time and Part-Time Breakfast Cooks to help support our Gatehouse dining venue and Market are a creative team that is passionate about using fresh local and sustainable products to bring high-quality food to our community. The Line Cook will have a unique opportunity to channel their knowledge skills ambition and experience in a meaningful way that directly impacts the lives of our residents and team members.

• Schedule/Availability:
  • 5:00a - 1:30p or 7:00a - 3:30p
  • Rotating Weekends (required)

What youll do:

• Prepare food items preparation equipment small wares plate ware food ingredients garnishes and supply items needed for effective operations
• Maintains the highest degree of sanitation cleanliness and food safety for work area
• Follow menus provided making changes only with the consent of the culinary leadership
• Plan cooking schedule so that the finished product reaches the consumer at peak quality
• Work directly with residents team members and guests to ensure expectations are being met or exceeded
• Fulfilling catering orders for events on campus
• Perform any other duties and/or tasks that may be assigned on an as needed basis by an authorized supervisor

What youll need:

• 2 Years of experience in food service operations
• Knowledge of proper methods and cooking temperatures for best utilization in yield of meats and other foods
• Ability to time the cooking of vegetables so that their nutritional quality flavor and appearance are preserved
• Ability to accurately estimate quantities of food needed and yields from bulk foods
• Knowledge of and an appreciation for principles and requirements of sanitation and safety in handling food and equipment
• Experience preparing and serving meals in an appealing and appetizing manner
