Job Description Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Radiation Therapist to deliver accurate and compassionate radiation treatments across adult outpatient and acute care settings. This position supports a wide range of oncology treatment modalities including IMRT external beam therapy stereotactic radiosurgery and respiratory-gated treatments. First-time travelers with at least 1 year of radiation therapy experience are accepted.

The role requires strong knowledge of Elekta linear accelerators treatment positioning imaging verification and chart accuracy. Clinicians must be comfortable floating between like units and working independently within a high-acuity radiation oncology department.

Responsibilities Treatment Delivery
  • Administer daily radiation treatments including:
    External Beam Therapy
    IMRT
    Prostate cancer (seeds/fiducials)
    Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS)
    Respiratory Gating
    Craniospinal treatments
    Benign and oncologic diagnoses (Hodgkins NHL leukemia brain tumors etc.)
    Gynecomastia heterotopic bone keloids Graves disease treatments

Beam Positioning & Pretreatment
  • Perform accurate setup using:
    CBCT / kV / mV imaging
    Custom molds & shields
    Portal casts
    Wedges & compensation filters
    B-Mode acquisition targeting

  • Conduct simulation of treatment sites

  • Assist with reviewing or supervising implementation of treatment plans

Patient Care & Safety
  • Follow all radiation safety protocols

  • Apply isolation precautions

  • Assist patients with transfers using lift devices

  • Respond to emergency cases when needed

  • Provide thorough patient/family education regarding treatment

Clinical Operations
  • Perform chart checks and maintain accurate daily documentation

  • Support billing for treatment types and devices

  • Use Mosaiq and C-RAD systems

  • Operate Elekta Synergy and Elekta Infinity treatment units

  • Maintain smooth workflow and collaborate closely with oncologists physicists and dosimetrists

Key Requirements
  • Minimum 1 year of Radiation Therapy experience

  • First-time travelers accepted

  • Must float between like units

  • No weekends no call

  • Must meet all certification requirements at submission

  • Locals accepted

  • Block scheduling considered at manager discretion

  • RTO must be included at time of submission

  • Pending licenses not accepted

  • Facility may call off 1 shift per two-week pay period

Qualifications Education:
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy program

Experience:
  • At least 1 year of recent full-time Radiation Therapy experience

  • Experience in adult outpatient and acute oncology settings preferred

  • Experience with Elekta systems and Mosaiq preferred

License & Certifications:
  • ARRT (T) Required

  • State Radiation Therapist License Required

  • BLS (AHA) Required
