Overview of role

This is a fixed-term part-time teaching role (maternity cover) starting in February 2026 which entails:

  • 9 teaching periods/week
  • 1.5 hours support to students/class cover per week
  • Time for PPA corrections collaborative work and meetings
  • Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
  • Teach Visual Arts for all levels across Secondary (Y7 to Y13) and in IB
  • Organise and manage classroom which promotes student-centred learning
  • Create and deliver original and engaging activities for students with a provision for differentiation
  • Model and foster an environment that cultivates innovative mindset and critical thinking
  • Provide meaningful assignments and constructive feedback to students
  • Support students in extracurricular activities: EPQ preparation for university entrance exams etc.
  • Organise school-wide arts projects and support students in participating in national and international art competitions
  • Write schemes of work and Year plan to ensure the curriculum is met and aligned with LILs standards
  • Incorporate the mission and values of the school into the classroom
  • Maintain up-to-date records of assessment attendance planning reports and communication with families
  • Participate in parents-teachers meetings and class meetings

What we are looking for at LIL

  • QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant degree
  • At least 3 years of previous experience in a similar role
  • Experience in teaching IBDP highly desirable
  • Familiarity with a non-exhaustive range of art techniques including digital art
  • A passion for education and making a difference
  • Willingness to help students reach their potential
  • Curriculum development knowledge
  • Open mindedness and creativity to develop new educational approaches
  • Strong ability to work as a team
  • Ability to work under pressure during term time and meet deadlines
  • Ability to manage the classroom through positive discipline

Lycée International de Londres Winston Churchill is an independent school in Wembley offering in the Secondary section two tracks: the French curriculum and the English International Program leading to the IB Diploma programme in Y12 and Y13.
