- Support the planning and design of future Parks and Recreation development projects.
- Inventory and analysis of existing park facilities.
- Gathering of stakeholder and park user input.
- Notation of usage patterns opportunities and constraints.
- Conceptual park & trail design
- Attendance and participation in project design meetings.
- Research into national/regional trends for the purpose of discovering and vetting future park elements and programming opportunities.
- Creation of park master plans for existing Sioux Falls Park properties.
- Attend and participate in project management and stake holder relationship functions.
- This is a 2026 summer internship.
Minimum Qualifications
- Recent graduate or currently enrolled in an accredited landscape architecture program.
- Must have an interest in the design of parks public spaces trails and multi-use recreational facilities.
- Must understand landscape architecture design principles including land use planning recreational programming site design and master planning.
- Must have strong research and analytical skills. Proficiency or exposure to Adobe design software ArcGIS and AutoCAD is preferred.
- Ability to work as a team member and collaborate effectively with others.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills including creation of project reports and public speaking.
