Job Summary

Wilkes University invites applicants for an Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice (non-tenure track faculty of practice) with a focus in ambulatory care in the Department of Pharmacy Practice Nesbitt School of Pharmacy beginning in fall 2026 pending available funding. The Nesbitt School of Pharmacy has a dynamic comprehensive and innovative approach to pharmacy education. Our mission is to develop pharmacists who will provide high-quality health care and make meaningful contributions to the science and practice of pharmacy.

The successful candidate is responsible for collaborating with physicians nurses and other medical providers to engage in direct patient care at their practice site. They will be expected to provide exceptional pharmaceutical care for a variety of chronic disease states and serve as a quality preceptor and mentor to addition to experiential activities the successful candidate will participate in didactic teaching provide service to the profession and all levels of the University serve as a student advisor and engage in meaningful scholarship. Didactic teaching can include both small and large classes as well as professional skills-based courses. Excellence in teaching is the primary criteria for promotion. A Doctor of Pharmacy degree and a Pennsylvania pharmacist license (active or obtained immediately upon hire) are required. The ideal candidate will have completed an ASHP-accredited PGY-1 pharmacy residency and (preferred) completed or are in the process of completing an accredited PGY-2 ambulatory care residency or have comparable work experience. The ideal candidate should also consider obtaining a Pennsylvania license to administer injectables within one year of hire. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
