Job Summary

The Ferdinand-Braun-Institut Leibniz-Institut für Höchstfrequenztechnik (FBH) is an application-oriented research institute in the fields of high-frequency electronics photonics and quantum physics. It researches electronic and optical components modules and systems based on compound semiconductors. These devices are key enablers that address the needs of todays society in fields like communications energy health and mobility. It covers the entire value chain from design to ready-for-delivery systems.

Our Joint Lab Quantum Photonic Components is one of the worlds leading developers of compact and robust diode laser modules for quantum technology applications including quantum computers and space-based quantum sensors. For these research activities we are looking for a Scientific Employee (m/f/d) for quality assurance in a project for the realization of laser modules for use in space to start as soon as possible.

Your tasks

  • Development and management of product assurance processes including independent creation of the associated documentation in accordance with ECSS standards
  • Qualification of laser modules for specific mission scenarios
  • Entering project documentation into a product lifecycle management database


Your profile

  • University degree (university diploma or masters degree) in physics physical engineering photonics aerospace engineering electrical engineering (focus on optoelectronics) mechanical engineering or comparable
  • Independent and careful way of working
  • Communication and teamwork skills as well as a high degree of self-initiative
  • Very good written and spoken German and English language skills
  • Experience in at least one of the following areas is also required:
    • Experience with quality assurance methods
    • Knowledge of laser theory as well as laser technology and optics and experience in laser development
