BGC Okanagan is seeking a part-time temporaryProgram Coordinator to support the Community Action Program for Children (CAPC) in strengthening connections that help families with young children this role you will identify key stakeholders monitor emerging community needs promote local family services and contribute to early childhood development initiatives. Using a population-health approach youll foster broad community engagement and ensure that families help shape program planning implementation and evaluation.


The successful candidate will also support the Community Kitchen working 21 hours per week in the Program Coordinator role and 8 hours per month in the community kitchen. This position is a temporary assignment that will conclude upon the incumbents return.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan and develop the CAPC program with the supervisor including implementing activities and special events.
  • Develop and monitor a community-service framework; consult with local service providers; and collaborate on the design and delivery of supports.
  • Promote services for families facing risk partner with agencies to deliver group education and ensure families can access appropriate supports.
  • Participate in evaluation activities adjust programming based on community feedback and support continuous improvement.
  • Oversee day-to-day program operations ensuring facilities equipment guidelines and licensing requirements are met.
  • Supervise program staff by assigning work providing feedback conducting evaluations scheduling staff and supporting recruitment and training of staff volunteers and students.
  • Monitors and authorizes program expenditures and maintains financial records in accordance with established procedures. Prepare the program budget for submission and presentation to senior management.
  • Promote the program through outreach promotional materials and community events.
  • Liaise with community partners to coordinate services make referrals and represent the program externally.
  • Maintain records track statistics and prepare required reports.
  • Attend regional training and complete tasks assigned by leadership


Qualifications:

  • Diploma in a related human/social service field
  • Minimum of three (3) years recent related experience including one (1) year supervisory or administrative experience
  • Or an equivalent combination of education training and experience.

Hours:

  • 21 hours per week Program Coordinator role
  • 8 hours per month Community Kitchen


Rate of Pay: $33.77 per hour
