Apex provides a range of engineering and environmental services throughout the United States with a strong presence and history in the Pacific Northwest. The Vancouver office environmental team primarily works with environmental permit compliance stormwater treatment wastewater treatment solid waste management contaminated media mitigation and site monitoring projects and is seeking an additional project engineer to support our growing this role you will manage client communications and project tasks including budgets scopes of work and billings for multiple projects. You will also collaborate with staff in our other 8 offices throughout the Pacific Northwest. With your strong people and leadership skills youll oversee the work of junior staff and provide valuable mentorship. Your Responsibilities as an Environmental Engineer:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Environmental or similar Engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited institution.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer or ability to obtain registration in 6 months
- 4 years of engineering consulting experience.
- Project management experience.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
- Excellent written and verbal communication with strong critical thinking skills.
- Valid drivers license and clean driving record.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Masters degree in engineering.
- Current OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training certification.
- Experience with NPDES water discharge permits and stormwater management.
- Experience with solid waste facilities (landfills transfer stations composting recycling etc).
- Familiarity with Washington State and Oregon State cleanup programs.
What were looking for:
- Prepare engineering calculations and assumptions and present technical recommendations.
- Review and prepare technical reports and presentations.
- Review and prepare environmental permitting materials.
- Prepare designs specifications and engineering cost estimates for stormwater treatment wastewater treatment contaminated media mitigation (soil sediment vapor and/or groundwater) and other similar projects.
- Manage preparation of environmental management plans (SWPCP/SWPPP SPCC ASPP etc.)
- Provide technical support to project managers in other disciplines.
- Field oversight of construction projects related to environmental systems or site development.
- Responsible for overseeing the work of and providing mentorship to junior staff
