Job Description
The Role:
We are seeking an exceptional candidate for the position of Cal Tech Specialist Suspension Features within GMs Vehicle Motion Embedded Controls (VMEC) Steering Suspension and Performance Race Software organization. This is new and fast-growing area of the business with ample opportunities for technical and thought leadership. The Cal Tech Specialist Suspension Features is responsible for indirectly leading a team of Calibration Engineers to produce high-quality on time deliverables for all vehicle programs using common methods processes and procedures. The selected candidate will also have a unique opportunity to influence and develop future Suspension features and controls strategies stand-up calibration processes in Suspension as well as retain ownership of selected vehicle calibration responsibilities within the team. The selected candidate will also have the opportunity to take the lead on establishing the methods processes and procedures that the Suspension calibration team will use for all GM in-house developed Suspension controls and software.
The ideal candidate should possess comprehensive experience in calibration as well as deep understanding of controls algorithm/software development within the VMEC organization as well as demonstrated leadership planning communication teamwork and prioritization skills. This role will involve the creation of calibration process procedures and methods for an all-new calibration team. The ideal candidate will need to be able to deal with the ambiguity that is associated with a new team.
