Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor of Occupational Therapy The Hanover College Department of Occupational Therapy seeks a dedicated and skilled Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor of Occupational Therapy to join our innovative hybrid program. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and growing occupational therapy program that blends cutting-edge online education with hands-on learning experiences. Our program combines online learning with in-person lab immersion offering a flexible and dynamic environment for both students and faculty. Essential Tasks and Functions: - Adhere to the Occupational Therapy Code of Ethics and uphold the core values of the profession.
- Demonstrate contemporary knowledge and expertise in assigned teaching areas.
- Communicate effectively and professionally in writing and orally both in person and online.
- Foster inclusive and respectful interactions with students colleagues and staff.
- Manage detail-oriented assignments and maintain confidentiality.
- Effectively balance a broad range of responsibilities within the Doctor of Occupational Therapy Program.
- Promote a positive image of Hanover College and represent the College in accordance with the Colleges mission principles and strategic plan.
- Support a welcoming College environment.
Teaching and Educational Responsibilities: - Teach online courses and in-person lab immersions throughout the academic year as assigned by the OTD Program Director and the Director of Curriculum.
- Develop review and update course materials including syllabi and online and lab content with a focus on high-quality instructional methods.
- Select and implement appropriate instructional methods and assessment strategies.
- Mentor and support students throughout the program including fieldwork and capstone advising.
- Contribute to program development and the enhancement of the curriculum.
- Engage in scholarly research and professional development activities.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to ensure a high-quality academic experience for students.
- Maintain access to reliable high-speed internet to support instructional responsibilities.
Qualifications: - Terminal Doctorate: Earned terminal doctorate in a discipline appropriate for teaching responsibilities OR a Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) degree with a specialization relevant to teaching responsibilities.
- Higher Education: Demonstrated understanding of higher education and contemporary clinical practice appropriate for leadership in occupational therapy education.
- Teaching Experience: Minimum of three years of full-time experience in higher education.
- Knowledge Base: Familiarity with legislative regulatory legal and practice issues impacting didactic and fieldwork education students and the profession of occupational therapy.
- Licensure: Ability to obtain and maintain an active unrestricted license as an occupational therapist in Indiana and the state of residence.
- Professional Engagement: Active participation in professional activities at local state and/or national levels.
- Faculty Rank: Experience consistent with the Hanover College system for faculty rank.
- Inclusivity Commitment: Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with people from all backgrounds including students administration faculty and staff.
Qualifications: - Previous teaching experience in a hybrid or online learning environment.
- Experience in curriculum design and course development.
