The Plant Projects & Engineering Manager will lead the execution and oversight of capital projects
engineering support and process improvements across the portfolio of service center (plant) locations.
This role requires close coordination with plant managers the Center of Excellence (COE) team
sourcing and EHS. The individual will manage a team of engineers standardize project delivery
processes supervise P&;E project execution and ensure alignment with business objectives and
operational needs.
Key Characteristics (Highlight characteristics required to succeed in the role)
Lead execution of capital projects from initiation to closeout across multiple plant sites.
Manage direct reports responsible for CAPEX projects and operational engineering support.
Coordinate with plant managers to assess needs prioritize engineering and project/process
support.
Serve as the point of contact between NorAm Operations org and site-level teams to align
technical scope budget and execution.
Standardize project closeout documentation and performance reporting.
Maintain and oversee updates to technical documents such as P&IDs GA drawings and 3D
models.
Support development of project engineering packages including specifications scope vendor
submittals and commissioning checklists.
Identify bottlenecks in execution and recommend process or resource improvements.
Provide guidance and oversight on safety quality and compliance in plant projects.
Support resolution of critical plant operational challenges through engineering innovation.
Assist in long-term capital planning and budget alignment with Finance.
Develop preventive maintenance strategies in coordination with COE and EHS teams.
Support onboarding and training of junior engineers and site-level project contributors.
Track KPIs related to project delivery engineering support and CAPEX execution efficiency.
Conduct regular reviews with leadership and stakeholders on project status and risks.
Duties & Responsibilities
Accountable for the successful budget schedule and execution of capital projects across
multiple water treatment plants and service centers from initiation through closeout.
Lead a team of project engineers and technical staff responsible for site-specific CAPEX
execution and ongoing engineering support.
Own development and standardization of technical documentation including P&IDs GA
drawings 3D models and engineering packages.
Act as liaison between the COE plant managers and sourcing teams to align on technical scope
budget and execution timelines.
Identify and resolve plant-level operational engineering challenges through technical leadership
and cross-functional collaboration.
Implement standardized closeout procedures reporting tools and CAPEX tracking metrics
across all project sites.
Support capital planning by prioritizing project requests identifying resource needs and aligning
with long-term strategic goals.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities
Strong project management and organizational skills
Proficient in interpreting and developing technical drawings (P&IDs GA 3D models)
Demonstrated leadership of cross functional teams
Effective communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills
Skilled in SAP project tracking tools and CAD software
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strategic and critical thinker with a hands on solution oriented approach
Qualifications :
Required:
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Chemical or Industrial Engineering (or related field)
10 years of progressive experience in capital project engineering and/or plant operations
within industrial or process driven environments
5 years of leadership experience including direct management of engineering team members
Demonstrated experience managing multi-million dollar capital projects across geographically
distributed facilities
PMP certification (or equivalent project leadership credential)
Lean Six Sigma certification
Completion of leadership/management training programs
Preferred (if applicable):
Experience leading within a matrixed organization or global engineering function
Prior work in water treatment technologies process engineering or mobile systems
Familiarity with EHS regulatory environments (OSHA EPA local codes)
Proficiency in technical and financial evaluation of CAPEX investments (NPV ROI payback)
Willingness and ability to travel on domestic and international assignments
